Laura Fleming practices labor law at Stradling,
a full-service law firm.
Ms. Fleming represents a broad range of clients,
from Fortune 100 companies to start-ups and individual executives.
Her expertise includes all things employment-related: advice and
counsel, personnel documentation, internal investigations, union
arbitrations, government audits, and litigation defense. Ms.
Fleming also speaks on a variety of topics, including diversity
initiatives and social media in the workplace.
Ms. Fleming is a graduate of Harvard University
and Harvard Law School.

Laura Fleming is a
shareholder in Stradling Yocca Carlson & Rauth's Labor and
Employment practice. Her expertise includes advice and counsel,
employment agreements, internal investigations, union arbitrations,
government agency audits, and litigation defense for
single-plaintiff and class action matters. Ms. Fleming has provided
employment law support to a broad range of clients, ranging from
Fortune 100 companies to small businesses and individual
executives. She is also a featured speaker and author on human
resources and employment law issues. Ms. Fleming is conversant in
Mandarin Chinese.
Ms. Fleming earned her
B.A. and J.D. degrees from Harvard University. She practiced in
Boston and Shanghai prior to moving to Orange County in 2001.

- Successfully defended and resolved dozens of NLRB unfair labor
practice charges brought against an international hospitality
client during a labor dispute.
- Successfully defended and resolved discrimination lawsuits
against major online retailer.
- Successfully defended and resolved class action lawsuit against

- Successfully defended multiple labor arbitrations on behalf of
hospitality client.
- Obtained dismissal of discrimination claims against healthcare
client, resulting in published 9th Circuit case (Johnson v.
Riverside Healthcare Sys., 534 F.3d 1116 (9th Cir. 2008) (affirming
dismissal of discrimination claims under FEHA and Unruh Act)).
- Obtained summary judgment on behalf of aerospace and
hospitality clients facing employment discrimination claims.
- Represented national retail chain in successful resolution of
state-wide class action involving over 100,000 employees.
- Represented international technology client in jury trial
resulting in defense verdict.
- Represented local manufacturing company in jury trial resulting
in defense verdict.
